Area North Planning Committee (SSDC) has granted Listed Building Consent and Change of Use for the refurbishment of The George. The Project Team are now working with the architects and SSDC to ensure that all conditions are discharged before approved works are undertaken.
We are committed to restoring the building to a high standard, in keeping with its Listed Building status and ensuring that it is ‘fit for purpose’ as a Community facility for many years to come.
This level of refurbishment will be time consuming and require significant investment. It is hoped that the café and meeting rooms will be ‘up and running’ as soon as is practical but this is unlikely to be in the short-term.
