On Saturday, 17th September 2016, the village held a ‘Street Fair’ and what a great success it was! (Our congratulations and thanks to the event’s organisers.) M.C.F. were pleased to be able to open ‘The George’ and serve free drinks to all who came in ~ of which there was somewhere around 400 in total, with many taking up the offer of a tour of this newly refurbished facility. The feedback was tremendously positive and encouraging and we thank God for helping us get to the stage we are.
Then, on the following morning, it was a great joy to hold a service of baptism for two young men who shared powerful testimonies of how God has been at work in their lives. So, all-in-all, a wonderful weekend!
On a sadder note, the fellowship lost one of its longest serving members on 9th September. Mike Bennett was truly an inspiration to us all and a tremendous example of consistent Christian living. He will be greatly missed by the entire fellowship and our love and prayers are with his family. A service of thanksgiving for Mike’s life and witness will be held in All Saints Parish Church, this coming Thursday, (22/9), at 3pm.
