Introduction

“Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.” Psalm 96:3

MCF has always been a missions-minded church, but in early 2006 a ‘missions team’ was formed with the purpose of bringing a clearer focus to our overseas involvement and financial support. One of the first things the team did was to write it own ‘mission statement’ ~ one that is very much in line with that of the church as a whole. Briefly stated, the team’s objectives are as follows…

‘The Missions Team exists to glorify God by strengthening and multiplying his kingdom through mobilizing MCF to pray, serve and support both local and foreign missions in accordance with the Great Commission and the strategy set out in Acts.’

To this end the team aims to do the following:

• Publish regular and specific prayer information via the church’s news sheet

• Provide financial support to our designated agencies and families by way of special missions offerings four times a year.

• Encourage members of the church to be part of short-term mission teams, primarily to Kenya and Ukraine.

• Organise an annual Missions Sunday, usually with a nationally-known guest speaker.

• Ensure that our missionary families receive regular letters and news from home.
