Alpha – Christianity Explored
These are informal courses for people who would like to investigate Christianity, or just brush up on the basics. They are ready to be run as and when they are needed, so please let us know if you would be interested in finding out more.
Every Thursday evening, (unless otherwise advised), a small team from M.C.F. take a well equipped trailer to the local Rec and serve free tea, coffee and cakes to any young people who happened to be around. Sometimes there’s an impromptu game of football and we also take seats for those who would like to just sit and chat for a while.
Bereavement Support Group
An opportunity for anyone who is struggling with loss or disappointment to share a cuppa with someone who is ready to listen to their story. The group meets on the first Monday of each month, at 2:30pm, and on the third Saturday of each month, at 10:30am. All are welcome.
This is a really popular event, generally held on the first Saturday morning of each month, between October and May each year. Following a hearty, full-English breakfast, we enjoy a talk from a guest speaker who generally brings us a fascinating insight into his work or pastime. The first event in our new series of breakfasts will be at 8:30 on Saturday, 1st October.
Messy Church – on hold until further notice
Starting at 3pm on the first Saturday afternoon of every new half-term week, ‘Messy Church’ is an opportunity for whole families to come and share in a varied programme of activities and all-age worship, before enjoying a simple meal together. Please come and join us.
The MCF Puppet Team consists of adult and youth puppeteers, operating large rod-arm puppets singing Christian lyrics to popular songs. Performances of 10 to 30 minutes duration. Sunbeams is for babies, toddlers, parents and carers. Starting at 10:00 with toys, play-doh and craft until 11:45. We have a snack and a drink for children and adults with a story for the children to listen to. We sing well known children songs and nursery rhymes. (We ask for a donation of £1 to cover costs.)
